In recent years we have seen a lot on Ultrabook laptops from various brands that have hit the market. Intel came up with concept of these ultrabook that come in varied features and specifications mostly weighing less than 1.5 kg and 13.3 inches (1366×768 pixels) ultra-slim HD display screen, which can vary with different models. The Ultrabook is designed to be thin light weight (less than 2.1 cm thick), low-voltage processors with more than 5 hrs of battery life. Intel has indicated ultrabook specs in its blog and also wanted its price to be below $1000. Apple’s MacBook Air, are in competition with Ultrabook are also powered with intel CPUs with similar specifications running on MAC OS.

Acer Aspire S3 & S7

Acer Aspire S3 earlier ultrabook came with sleek design having thickness of 13.10 mm / 17.50 mm, weighing 1.35 kg with 4gb ram capacity with Core i5-2467M (1.6 GHz) processor, display of 13.3" and resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels. Keyboard and touchpad are quite ok if you looking for a cheaper option.  Its storage capacity of 320 GB HDD is quite good enough to store a lot of movies. Battery life lasts for 6hrs.

Acer Aspire S7  Windows 8 Ultrabook is well built with touchscreen, thin, light weight available in 13.3 and 11.6 inches model. These are full HD touch screens with capacity of tilting back 180 degrees. Battery life is longer lasting for  12 hrs for 13.3-inch model and 9 hours for 11.6" model. It has glossy sculpted-glass, aluminum metallic unibody. Better than earlier version exact price has not been revealed yet but is expected to be around $1000.

Dell Inspiron

This Dell Inspiron 14z soon to be launched is showcased as Dell's first Inspiron ultrabook. It has earlier come with Dell XPS 13 with 13.3" and resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels. It has average thickness of ( 0.47 in) varying 6–18 mm, 128 GB SSD, weighing 1.36 kg with 4gb ram capacity. It will reasonably cost you around $1000 with Core i5-2467M processor and Intel HD3000 graphics. Battery life is good that last upto 8hrs.

Dell’s second ultrabook release consists of 13z and 14z is expected to be released by June 19. Dell Inspiron 14z features 14" high definition (720p) WLED display. It has a storage range from 320GB to 500GB  with a 32GB SSD, and weighs 1.87kg. Its cost will be $700. Its 13-inch version will also be available. Its long Battery life will last for 7 hrs.

The Dell Inspiron 13z will come at lower price of $600 which matches with Core i3 and i5 processor options of 14z's.  It has longer lasting battery of 7 1/2 hours.

Touchscreen ASUS Zenbook Prime

Asus UX21E

Asus had come up with 11-inch UX21A from Computex 2012 range having Touch screen and making it easier to interact with windows 8. This will cost more due to touch screen feature except for screen design and specs will remain same. Its price is not revealed yet. The non-touch version of UX21A is also available.

Asus UX31E

Asus Zenbook UX31E is sleek with available full HD screen having core i5 or i7 Intel processor with hard drive capacity of 128 GB / 256 GB SSD with thickess of 17mm and weight of 1.30kg more than UX21A.

Toshiba Satellite U845W

 Toshiba has come up with its range of  Toshiba Satellite U845W with an ultra-wide 14.4-inch, 21:9 aspect ratio display and resolution of 1792 x 768 pixels. It is powered by third-generation Intel Core processor equipped with latest Ivy Bridge processor, 500GB HDD or 256GB SSD storage, backlit keyboard and a battery life up to 7.5 hours. Toshiba Satellite ultrabook will be released in mid July 2012 and starting price range from $1000 to $1500 based on model and configuration.

Samsung Series 5 Ultra Convertible

Samsung Series 5 Ultra Touch

The Series 5 Ultra Convertible has come up with touch screen versions in its series of Ultrabooks. Ultra Convertible has its screen that folds back as 360 degrees similar to Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga. Its well built design, light weight, touch screen and can be rotated back where keyboard can act as a stand.

These Ultrabooks come with few fair connectivity options of two USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 ports, an HDMI port, Ethernet connectivity, a mini VGA port, a headset jack and 4-in-1 memory card reader.
