How To Setup Dropbox Advanced Installation

Dropbox popular cloud-based storage systems has typical installation settings is recommended for most of users as it itself creates home directory in document folder by default. You can sync that folder with other folders or files in dropbox cloud service. But if you want to have dropbox in your other drive or folder you can use advanced option.

Advanced setup as shown in the video below by selecting advanced option and select your particular drive or folder where the dropbox folder will be created and choosing selective sync.

You can either choose to use selective sync option for all folders or some folders that were already selected.
You can choose to create public link for sharing with friends or anyone by right clicking dropbox icon in system tray and choosing launch website option where you can log in. Shared folder and files link can be removed anytime.

Other Tips

1. You can invite your friends to join dropbox using your referral link and get 250 MB of additional storage space.


2. You can use local area network sync by enabling this option.


3. You can share and upload your photos, videos, music files with your friends.


4. Enabling lan sync option allow downloading from other computer in network saving time.


5. Camera upload option can be enabled or disabled allowing import of pictures and video.
