First mobile application of Club Penguin on iOS

    Club Penguin

On 15 September, a kid woke up at three in the morning. Just what in this world could be going on in his heart and mind…!!! Only that Puffle Launch… yeah…!!!! Things he loved most were coming to his fingertips! He could not be expected to wait till dawn to grab them… right?
Club Penguin, Disney’s virtual kids’ world went mobile for the first time on that day. Hundreds of millions of kids belonging to this global community felt that same sharp urge to be the first to download the Puffle Launch app for iOS in their iPhones, iPad and iPod Touch. The new app brings that hugely popular game played by 150 k young children every day into their pockets for just $0.99. The little daredevils couldn’t be expected to refrain from blasting their favorite pet Puffles through different challenges like the Blast off, 24 Levels, Unlock severe modes and the Crab boss to the ultimate one that allowed them to reap what they had sown - counting the coins and transferring them to their own account. Parents allowed them to go for the steal as they too felt that it would keep the restive kids engrossed on those occasional long car trips. While it still may not contend with Angry Birds and Plants vs Zombies or the chart busting Nintendo DS and Wii games, yet it has its teeth already set around a big chunk of the market.
By the time CP were over with the scheduled launch, test results and mails of admiration started pouring in like nothing else. Head of marketing and distribution for Disney Online Studios was just dumbfounded to see those thousands of kids ‘waddling on’ team CP for having developed the app of their dreams…!! He naturally promised not to make Puffle Launch the last to make its appearance in the apps stores. It is just a matter of time now as CP charts other online social games to take the form of apps.
That perhaps was pre-ordained. Kids’ web sport Puffle Launch from CP tasted success since its release in the networked social game from last year in March. Its success story of is self revealing. From the very beginning, when the app was at its development stage, team CP kept its agile members engrossed figuring out what it should look like. Member fancy was headed too. Thus, the new app displays very easy-to-handle controls for a kid of 4/5. These controls can be maneuvered by even toddlers. One does not feel a lack of finesse either. As one goes up the levels of challenge, it all becomes a stumping affair. Difficulty levels increase swiftly, as also does the functionality of this app.
To enhance the users’ experience and satisfaction, CP allows the youngsters to integrate the coins collected during a full game with its site and transfer the pillage to their own account too. Some thought CP was obliged to do this in view of its waning market shine. The fact that the new app made its appearance without a touch up became the riveting logic behind this reasoning. The move was called as one for earning some extra money. However, one couldn’t miss the point that the game could be played for free after one downloaded it for $0.99.
