Now the users have the ability to access the internet on their mobiles. But as every coin has two sides, the internet usage on mobiles also has both advantages and disadvantages. So, before purchasing an internet plan for your mobile, consider the pros and cons.

Advantages of internet usage on your mobiles

• Where ever you are the internet on your mobile keeps you updated with all the information as and when it happens. It can be any news from breaking news delivered by news sites to business information like share prices.


• You can get the information about the locations around you. You can easily find out the nearest restaurant or bar by just searching on search engines with your phone’s in-built GPS system. You can also get recommendations and the route map of the place you want to visit.


• Portability is another advantage. You cannot carry your heavy laptop where ever you go as it may result in shoulder and back ache. So, having the internet access on your mobile is very handy.


• Nowadays most people are using social networking sites to stay in connect and engage with various people. So, having the internet on your mobile allows you to update your status and to know what your friends are up to.

Disadvantages of internet usage on your mobiles

• Internet on your mobiles is not as safe as on laptops or PC’s. Even though some sites establish secured connections, some unsecure sites may still proliferate. You don’t have any option to block unwanted traffic.


• Internet on your mobile does not support all the complex scripts that are available for web browsing. So, the pages from the sites which run on different scripts may not load successfully.


• The screen size of the mobiles does not fit well for web browsing or for watching videos. The text appears a lot smaller than the script that appears on computers. Zooming the text and scrolling up and down may cause lot of inconvenience to the user.


• Mobile internet protocol’s reliability is far less than that of normal protocol. Sometimes, even when the mobile is connected to internet, loading of the pages may take a very long time or may not load at all.
