LinkedIn has launched a "Follow Company" button similar to the Facebook ‘like’ button, that can be embedded on companies websites allowing users to connect with company's social media network and online marketing materials.
The follow button will allow the users to stay connected with company posts, latest news updates and other activities. Users have to login into linkedln account and will be automatically connected with social network of the company. Number of companies including are American Express, AT&T, Starbucks, have added follow button into their websites.
This will allow company to target a wider audience, join their community members, increase their online network and market their brand, products and services. Its likely that there will be increase in sales of products and services.
Linkedln had also come with social media plug-ins like “share” button in 2010 for sharing articles and later with “recommend” button that has worked well with a claim of 150 million members.
Linkedln's new button is cited to be eco-friendly with an internal research of 70% increase in following members and more features will added in coming weeks.
